Okay January...
Move along!
From Homecoming in mid-November to New Years, time flew by! Every time I turned around, it was time to go somewhere else. I always had a huge list of things to do/buy/make/clean/pack. But since New Years, January has draaaaaaaaaged. I cannot wait for this month to end.
Now, I despised the 105* weather we had in August. I am much more of a Winter Girl. I love snow. There is nothing like the complete, serene silence that happens only after a blanket of the white stuff has fallen, covering everything. I love snuggling under a blanket in front of the fire, and my hubby and I don't mind shovelling. I think I miss that the most about New York, the fact that it feel and acts like winter up there(Although, I know they have had their fill of snow this year, and they aren't done yet).
All that said, if it's not going to snow here in VA, then I'd really rather it be clear and in the low 60's. I hate cold rain. I'd much prefer a chilly rain during the summer with a big thunderstorm, but in the winter, when everything is dead and brown, rain is just depressing.
I think my feelings about the weather have changed due to the recent acquisition of a CREAM colored puppy. He's adorable as hell and he's pretty much house trained, but with his teeny puppy bladder, he's gotta go out. A lot. And because of the rain we keep having and the fact that it's not freezing anymore, our yard is one big mud hole. Bentley, of course, could care less. He loves outside, mud or no mud. I however, am sick and tired of having to wipe down a muddy puppy every hour. In that respect (and many others that I can't think of at this exact moment), cats are SO much easier (that's right, Willow. Mommy said it, don't tell your little brother).
So, I must now leave you, dear reader, to attend to Mr. Bentley who's gotta go out again. If I could ask you to think of me in the next 5 minutes or so; picture me attempting to wrestle him to the ground with his big green towel before he tracks his huge muddy paw prints along my CREAM colored carpet. Ugh.
And then, pray that February hurries it's ass up.
