I've always loved Valentine's Day. How could you not love a holiday filled with cards and flowers and CHOCOLATE! Even when I was single (many moons ago), there was still a spot in my heart for the day.
I've always enjoyed decorating and sending out Valentines cards (let's be honest, I enjoy doing that for ALL holidays). Recently I've had a flashback to elementary school when we'd make a Valentine mailbox or decorate a small paper bag and my classmates would go around the room and deliver those corny cardboard cards to each and everyone. These were happy memories for me, and I wonder if this is even something kids are still allowed to do in school, or if it will still be allowed when my kids get to be that age.
Regardless, Valentine's Day 2011 was a great success. My husband is the best when it comes to holidays and special occasions. I never have to worry if he'll remember. And it's not about how much he spends or what the objects are (although they're always great), it's the fact that he knows me so well and always picks the most perfect things that I will enjoy and are totally "me". This year was no exception. He knows I'm trying hard to eat better, so he got me one of those Edible Arrangements filled with all kinds of fruit and a smidgen of chocolate dipped strawberries, BEAUTIFUL roses (Willow finds them particularly delicious), a softy-soft bear and because I've been recently talking about balloons, a perfect heart-shaped balloon. He really is the best.
We went to dinner last night as well. While we were waiting for our table, a man came up to us and introduced himself as a Pastor at a local church. He told us that we were such a "blissful, good-looking" couple and that we should be proud of ourselves. That made us both feel good. No matter where we go, people talk to us about random things! I think I could fill a book with the randomness comments we get! After a very, very filling dinner, we decided to treat ourselves to dessert. The waitress explained that the kitchen was a little backed up (understandably so, it was PACKED in there) and that our dessert would be delayed. We didn't mind, we were enjoying our evening. It eventually did come and tried to eat all of it, but couldn't. It was just tooo much. We totally overdid it. When the bill came, the waitress apologized again for the delay on the dessert (we REALLY didn't care) but she took it off the bill for our "trouble". Woohoo! Free dessert! Made it taste even better!
We don't have any kids to spoil, so our pets get all of our attention and love. I know they're animals and can't feel "special" like children, but I like to make holidays special for them too. Willow and Bentley both got "Tines Tines" [Valentines] treats. They were both were happy and got to enjoy the evening with their mommy and daddy. They are too cute and are getting along better than I thought they would.
Hope all of you had a day filled with love!!!

You are so cute! I'm glad you had a great night :)
